ABSTRACT
With limited resource and infrastructure, the knowledge economy is the only pathway to cater to the educational needs of the world’s largest young population. With the vision of realizing the knowledge economy, the National Digital Library of India aims at becoming the one-stop platform for satisfying knowledge requirement of learners from diverse levels and disciplines. NDLI, sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has already made a significant impact in the Indian education sector by including more than 19 million e-learning resources in its collection. The development has leveraged state-of-art search and indexing technologies to power multi-lingual content discovery and multi-lingual interfaces. Artificial Intelligence and Text Mining approach based semi-automatic resource curation workflow has been instrumental in feeding resources to ever-growing resource collection. In this process, the research and development team has embarked on solving several challenging problems in the digital library including automatic metadata extraction, user intent analysis, resource recommendation, and others.

ABSTRACT
Many librarians are challenged by how often to embed information literacy training into the curriculum. This presentation will examine the Information Literacy Frameworks and curriculums that have been in use mainly in the UK and US. This paper will touch on some of the discussions around Information Literacy and how it intersects with other types of literacies. With the drive towards more digital delivery, this can present more opportunities, and we will examine what impacts these changes in delivery modes has meant for Information Literacy teaching/training and Librarians. In particular, this presentation will focus on how instructional design for Information Literacy is changing. We will then look at how different frameworks are implemented and how well these work in practice. Often the frameworks are holistic and are ideal, but in practice, librarians will sometimes have limited contact or no contact with students. We will look at how some work with students can help to inform whether certain aspects of the frameworks may be more fruitful to concentrate on. This presentation will use some case studies to look at how technology has been used in the design of both face to face and online Information Literacy courses and resources to discuss some of the different approaches to instructional and learning design.
